Why doesn't Windows XP run right on some systems sent with/made for Vista??

I've read about 'some' PC manufacturers including a copy of the Windows XP Pro restore cd when they ship out a computer with Vista on it. (You'd have to pay $15 or $20 extra.. and only a few manufacturers did it.. but still.) So I'm guessing it's completely possible for XP to run on some Vista systems... otherwise, there'd be no reason for'em to send out a restore/recovery cd for XP Pro with Vista.

But why is it that many systems that come with Vista on'em won't run XP right?

Like, some people have said they can't even get XP installed on Vista systems.. others don't recommend it.. and I myself have problems with it.

1: My onboard graphics and sound didnt work right (even with correct drivers, that SAID they would work with XP also). So I got a new sound card (was goin to anyway, but still) and a new graphics card as well.

2: Although it happened with Vista, it's happened more in XP on the same system. BLUESCREEN OF DEATH...

soo, yeah. why is it that xp dont like vista systems??.

Hi, well those manufacturer's that do give out xp cd's may have been using hardware that xp supports or could have managed to build custom drivers for them. Many new hardware manufacturer's only design drivers for Vista since its newer and also because Xp is older so they don't see the need to support it anymore. Vista is way better than Xp.

I hope I helped.

Good Luck!

They wanna let people know they're still alive and (barely) kickin. lol - just my opinion, though. Report It
