Try deleting the hiberfil.sys

(first make sure not to "Hide the System Protected Files" from control panel--%26gt;Folder Options)

and delete the file probably found on C: or maybe another partition

You may have to delete it from the Safe Mode

Windows XP Hibernate Problem.?microsoft.com internet explorer

i had a problem similar with my computer and it ended up being my harddrive..i had to get a new one and now my computer works great again
have you tried ending McAfee and google desktop then trying again
Try booting into safe mode (press F5 or F8 before the Windows splash screen appears). Enable this option while in safe mode. Please reply or email me if I can help you further. cjmclellen@yahoo.com
