Will Windows XP Run?

I have a computer with windows 95 its a pentium 233MHz with 256mb ram and a 18.2gig hard drive and i want to install windows xp pro, i'm buying it from a friend, will it run, even just for internet use?

No.. Windows XP needs at least 800mhz CPU and 512MB ram to run effeciently. Personally I don't even think that it would load onto the computer
Yes. The only problem I foresee is, perhaps, not enough RAM. You might consider add another 256MB; otherwise, it should run okay for what you want.

(That 18.2 gig hard drive is probably a 20 gig drive, which will probably be 17 something after you load XP)
You could try, and it will probably load...but you won't get much out of it.

It will be a very slow computer. I would almost suggest that you load Linux on it. Ubuntu or something similar will run faster, and it's free.
Yes, I have done this with many old computers. Just be prepared to walk away from it while it boots up, cause it is gonna take awhile. That is enough memory, barely, but it will do, cause even the first computers to come out with xp only had 128 Mb. I have even run xp on a 100 MHz computer, but booting times was not good.

And u hv got 233 MHz processor , so xp wont run on it. u can try installing it , becuz its Microsoft Windows and u never know what's in store.
