HI I GOT A LAPTOP FROM THE SCHOOL. THEY UPGRADED THEIRS AND THEY AUCTIONED OFF THEIR OLD ONES. WELLLL WHEN I START UP IT GOES TO THE WINDOWS XP PRO SCREEN AND IT ASKS FOR A U.NAME AND PASSWORD. AND SITE LOGGIN ON TO. WELL HOW CAN I GET AROUND IT? I CALLED MY LOCAL COMP USA WHO SAID EITHER REINSTALL WINDOWS XP OR GET A PASSWORD CHANGER SOFTWARE. WELL THE PROB. IS IT HAS WINDOWS XP PRO ON IT NOW, BUT IT ORIG. CAME WITH ME EDITION SINCE ITS AUTH. CODE ON THE BOTTOM IS ME EDITION, SO I DONT HAVE A PRODUCT CODE FOR XP, AND I DONT REALLY UNDERSTAND THE PASSWORD CHANGER. I TRIED ONE BUT YOU HAD TO KNOW THE USERNAME AND THEN IT WOULD DECODE THE PASSWORD, DIDNT WORK. SO NOW IM LIKEUHHH CALLED COMP USA AGAIN THEY SAID 120 DOLLARS, WELL THATS MORE THAN I PAID FOR ONE, 2 I HAVE 2 LAPTOPS AS MY MOM BOUGHT ONE TO, SO THATS EXPENSIVE, ANOTHER COMP USA GUY SAID GET AN ILLEGAL VERSION OF LIMEWIRE AND IT WILL COME WITH THE AUTH. CODE TO, THERES THE WINKEY PROG. BUT YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO LOG IN. I CANT

do this restart the computer when the computer is starting up keep tapping on the *F8* key fast then you will come too a option menu from there go too safemode then tap the enter key then your see the windows xp option then tap the enter key again and wait for the pc to load onto the login screen from there just click on the Administrator .Account then the pc will login on safemode then click on the safemode box that comes up just click on ok .. then click on start ... control panel ... user account .. icon then click on the use account id that the password is locked on then click on change password .. then click on the Apply option tab

then just restart the pc then when you come back to the login user account screen just click on the Account that you reset the password on and your intoo the computer.. as for the guy who said download windows from limewire ignore that idiot as all windows software from limewire has virus in them

Well there is only one way to get it from your pc. Thats right you can get it from your pc and here is how. You need to call the FBI and have them take your pc to a secret facility for training in extracting information. Once that is done you will need to leave the room. Dont pay any attention to the buzzing coming from the room. Go out and do some shopping for a couple of hours once you returned you shall have your license and a nice pc that will not give you any trouble.
You most likely have to reinstall your operating system. Before you buy one check out UBUNTU linux at ubuntu.org. It is free and you get all the programs you will ever need ***FREE***.

Unfortunately, obtaining a windows XP key (legally, anyway) can be tricky and/or costly. You can always get one from searching around on the internet, but this is illegal and your windows installation may fail unless you use other illegal tools to prevent it. I would recommend purchasing a copy of windows xp if you want to stay legal. You can buy a copy of windows for far less than the $120 Compusa was trying to charge you. Otherwise, google is your friend.
