Goto start menu, run and type dxdiag, run all the diagnostics there, if that doesnt work try reinstalling directx

YOU SHOULD REINTALL YOUR DIRECTX AND ALSO UPDATE YOU GRAPHICS DRIVER IF POSSIBLE.
