Here try this site to locate it. You can also use the IP address instead of the FTP address.

Try going to http://www.whatismyip.com
That will tell you what the address is from the "outside world".
If you have a firewall (you DO have a firewall, right?) then you may need to do some additional configuration on that. But the first step is determining your address.
Also, be aware that your address will probably change from time to time as your ISP reassigns it.
If you want to have a URL that never changes on a server who's address is dynamic, you'll need to use a service like http://www.dynip.com/ which gives you a static name. Whenever you boot your computer, it goes to the service and says "here's my current ip address and my name". The service then routes all requests to the name to the new IP address.
Unless you have a domain name, it would be your IP address.
the ftp address is simply the IP address. Your IP address may change everytime you start your PC. To get the IP address click Start %26gt; Run Type CMD %26gt; at the prompt type in IPCONFIG This will tell you the IP address. Some one wanting to use your ftp service would type in FTP://(ip address)
You should be able to test it yourself by typing in ftp://127.0.0.1
FTP uses port 21 so if you have a firewall you will want to open that port if some will be using yourservice.
if your ftp://your_ip_address
FTP is a Protocol
Are u behind a F/W?
