Can someone teach me how to format window xp pro?microsoft access

you can either insert your xp disk and startup, which should bring up a repair/format/install window and do it that way. Or hit F1 when you turn your computer on, go to boot sequence, and change it to where your computer boots first to DOS. Type cd.. and enter until it takes you to c:/

then type format c:/ (if your hard-drive is on C) and hit enter.. it will format it for you.. good luck

Start your computer with the winxp cd in the drive...Then follow the instructions...you can also go to microsoft online help...
yes, i did taht on my dads laptop. you go into bios i think and then you .... god, i forgot. i did it thgouh, and i installed a fake windows on it :P
This is so simple you're gonna love it....

Just put your Windows XP Pro disk in the CD drive and reboot your computer.

XP will start to boot and it should ask you if you want to do a "repair" installation or a "full" installation. Select the "full" installation. This will reformat your hard drive and you will not be able to access anything that is currently on your computer.

Just follow the on screen prompts for the full installation and you should be all set.

Hope this helps.
depending on the computer you have two options

1) many computers come with a hidden restore partition to restore your pc to the way it was the day you got it. if yours has this, when you turn it on you should see something like "Press F11 for Restore" or "Press F8 for Rescue Partition", etc.

press the key indicated and follow the prompts if this is your situation.

2) if you have the WinXP CD, pop in in the pc then reboot. your bios should start the cd up and you can follow all the prompts to reformat the hd and reinstall the operating system.

there is a 3rd possibility - some pc's came with "restore" cds. in that case use Restore CD#1 and follow step 2.
Don't format you hard drive - it is already formatted.

Don't reinstall Windows as it is already installed.

A virus should not cause this kind of problem.

Run check disk to try and repair your system.

Press Ctrl + Esc if you cannot see the Start button.
Pop the XP CD in and reboot the system. If your computer doesn't try to boot from the CD, you'll have to go into the BIOS to change the boot order and then reboot. (Different BIOS's have different ways to get into them before the OS fully boots, i.e. hitting F8).

Follow the instructions from there. If you want to set up multiple partitions, this is where you can do it. If not, make the entire hard drive one partition and make sure you format it in NTFS. Choosing the default options for whatever Windows tells you to do at this point is probably the easiest way to go.

Once the OS is fully installed, make sure you install any antivirus and firewall programs before you start gallivanting on the web. Only problem you may have is that Windows doesn't have the drivers to your ethernet card and therefore you won't be able to get out to the Internet. Hopefully you have driver disks or CDs. Otherwise, you may need help from someone with an internet connection.
